Course « Bible and Church leadership »

This course equips church leaders with the biblical foundations and practical skills for effective spiritual leadership. The course emphasizes the Bible’s role in shaping leadership  and the essential character and skills needed to be Spirit-led visionary. Participants will develop a personal philosophy of spiritual leadership, engage with the secular environment of Quebec and Canada, and understand the complexities of forming and equipping a ministry team.  Professor : Dr Charles Porter and guests

SCHEDULE:

This course runs from September 3 to December 15. Students can choose to take the course either online with some onsite sessions in the Montreal area or entirely online. The following Zoom meetings are mandatory for both formats : September 7, 21, 28 October 12, and November 9, all from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM. For those taking the course entirely online, the following onsite sessions will be recorded :

  • September 15, from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM at Trinity Church (1050 Shevchenko, Montreal)
  • October 26, from 9:45 AM to 4:30 PM at Lakeshore Church (470 Brookhaven ave Dorval)
  • November 23, from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM at Evangel Church (1235 rue Lambert Closse, Montréal). For that date, the morning session will consist of a specialized training for church boards.

WAYS TO TAKE THE COURSE:

Option 1 : Only one 3-hour onsite session of your choice (morning or afternoon)

  • No charge. No registration required.

Option 2 : All onsite sessions only

  • Cost : 99$. No homework, no credit (« paying visitor » status). Register at : ibq.ca/visitor
  • No access to the online portion of the course (including Zoom meetings)

Option 3 : All of the course

  • You can enrol as a regular IBQ student (with credits). 40 application fee + approx. $369 for tuition fees (see ibq.ca)
  • Or, you can enrol as a free auditor (no homework, no credit) ; Cost: $40 for enrolment + $155 for  tuition fees. The enrolment form for auditors is available online by clicking here.
  • Contact IBQ if you study in a field other than theology and wish to take this course as an elective.
